So it begins…

So then. I've decided to go round the world. Over the years, I have read about places around the world, sights to see, food to eat, people to meet, yet no time ever seemed like the right time to even consider going. Don't get me wrong, I've not spent years going nowhere - I have managed to travel around a bit, but always in one or two week glimpses. My problem was work - I had an odd feeling of self-importance and misplaced responsibility. I thought that I was too important to leave my job without causing lots of hassle to my colleagues and friends. Eventually, though, I managed to get past this (even if I did eventually give around eleven months notice), and have a new life ahead of me which I'm starting in grand style with a couple of years travelling. In the footsteps of many, I'm also going to blog about it. If you're reading this, then you're lucky people - you will have the pleasure of trying to decipher my obscure ramblings, criticising my poor writing, bemoaning my tales of social ineptitude, and envying my highs. Or maybe I'll produce something that people will enjoy reading, and we'll all have a nice time 😉 At any rate, this will be the first time I have ever blogged, so please bear with me while I work out exactly how to arrange my butterfly-cloud of thoughts into something legible and cohesive. Onwards and upwards!

At last we have an idea what you are up to. Careful though there is a danger we might get to know too much. Can you block people? Maybe i will be the first one.

I have mixed emotions reading this. I’m happy, envious and a little sad. September (or was it August) is advancing a little too quickly (for me). I look forward to reading this.

So, so excited for you. When is the South America leg? Are we still climbing Machu Pichu together?

South America should be starting Sept/Oct 2013 – I’ll work out the timings sometime early ext year. And yes – of course we’re still going to trek to Machu Pichu!
